RTC

On the 17th of February 2011 the students of the UPS course at chesterfield college  helped to marshal a campaign for road traffic collision. During this event, we had to send any smokers as far away as possible from the incident scene. The Police, Ambulance and Fire  and Rescue services were there, as this was used as a training exercise for them.


We were split into three areas of command:

• Gold
• Silver
• Bronze

After these teams were established Bronze command was then split up and placed at different postions along infimary road.

Once the groups were allocated a position, they were told what they would need to do and what to look out for. We were then dismissed and sent to our dessignated postion, to wait. After a couple of hours the Chaos began.

First to arrive on scene were the Fire and Rescue personnel, followed by the Ambulance service. The police were on standby, and helping the Uniformed Public Service students to keep the cordon in place and answering any questions that they asked them.
